Accurate Reconstruction of Neuronal Morphology
Dieter Jaeger
Examples of neuronal morphology
The Hippocampal Neuronal Morphology Archive contains a hundred or so digitized cells including pyramidal cells, interneurons and granule cells from the labs of Dennis Turner and Gyuri Buzsaki There are images and and the raw data files.
Morphology editing and file conversion software
Cvapp is a cell viewing, editing and format converting program for morphology files. It can also be used to prepare structures digitized with Neurolucida software for modeling with Neuron and Genesis.
Notes on using cvapp for file format conversion
Dieter Jaeger has written some detailed Notes on how to use cvapp to convert Neurolucida v3 files to Genesis 2.1 .p format. This is more than just changing file format. It includes marking different regions of the cell and remeshing the structure for use with Genesis.
Interactive demonstartions of morphelectrotonic transforms
Catacomb includes a cell transform component which can apply various transforms to a neuron. There are some examples under at the end of chapter 8 of the models section of catacomb.
