Modeling Local and Global Calcium Signals Using Reaction-Diffusion Equations

Gregory D. Smith

Book exercises

The thrust of the chapter is as much about how to build models as about what these models actually do. So the exercises are implemented in the form of a tutorial on how to set about building models, aimed at people who are not already applied mathematicians. To run the examples you need to install the free scientific software package, yorick which is included on the CD for MacOS, Windows and Unix.

Catacomb models

catacomb There are interactive models relating to some of the concepts in the chapter, though not directly to the exercises, in the models section of Catacomb.
